How long does a battery last?

With the purchase of new hearing aid(s), batteries are included for the warranty of the hearing aid. Since we provide the batteries, we want you to change your batteries once a week. Rechargeable hearing aid battery life can typically last for 18 or more hours.

Do I sleep in my hearing aids? How long do I wear them?

Hearing aids are much like glasses. You put them on in the morning and take them off at night. Also, keep them out of your ears while bathing or showering. Hearing aids do not like water.

How often should I clean my hearing aids?

Every night when you take them out you should wipe the hearing aids down with a tissue and do any necessary cleaning.

How do I turn my hearing aid off?

Most non-rechargeable hearing aids are turned off by opening the battery door. This also allows the hearing aid to dry out from excess moisture that may have been collecting throughout the day (condensation or perspiration). For rechargeable hearing aids, most can be turned off by pushing down on the button until a light appears.

Where do I keep them when I'm not wearing them?

Always be sure to put your hearing aids in their case if you are not wearing them. This prevents loss and keeps them away from pets and children which may cause damage to the aid.

What is my warranty and what does it cover?

For most new hearing aids, a manufacturer warranty is good for three years. This will cover any repair that we are unable to do in-house and any remake of the hearing aid due to poor fit. Loss and damage coverage is available. However, the patient will be responsible for a deductible processing fee.

Can I really return the aids if I don't like them?

We will work with you to get the best adjustment through regular follow-up appointments throughout the trial.

Some people don’t have the patience to try different options, can’t adapt to amplification, don’t have realistic expectations of what hearing aids can and can’t do, or aren’t motivated enough to work with us to find the best hearing solution. We certainly don’t want you to keep an aid you won’t use. We offer the ability to return unsatisfactory hearing aids. We will refund 100% of your purchase price.

How often should I see my Audiologist?

We suggest you have your hearing tested every 2 years. However, if you are having trouble or need an adjustment, please call and set up an appointment. Also keep in mind that the regular maintenance clean and check visits are a good source for problem solving.
