We are pleased to welcome otolaryngologist Kyle J. Smothers, MD, to Mid-Kansas Ear, Nose & Throat Associates. Dr. Smothers has an interest in otology and hearing restoration, sleep surgery, head and neck oncology and facial reconstruction.
Dr. Smothers was born in Fort Worth, Texas and raised in Clearwater, Kansas. He is excited and thankful to be back home in Kansas. “Wichita is my home and where my roots are,” said Dr. Smothers.
“Mid-Kansas Ear, Nose & Throat has an excellent reputation both in and out of the medical community for providing comprehensive ENT care for the city of Wichita and the region,” said Smothers. “I desired to join a practice where I would be able to provide robust ENT care for my community.”
He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University College of Dublin in Dublin, Ireland. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery at University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Smothers has always had a love for science, especially anatomy and physiology, which led him to pursue otolaryngology. He enjoys the challenges and intricacies of the head and neck procedures.
Dr. Smothers’ goal is to be a full ENT aid to his patients as well as healthcare providers in the region. “Hearing difficulties can lead to communication issues causing people to feel isolated. Seeking help can be challenging due to the social stigma of therapies or hearing aids.” added Smothers. “My wish for my patients is to feel heard and treated well from their first encounter and throughout the entirety of their care.”
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Smothers enjoys family time with his wife and their four children. He also enjoys reading fiction and non-fiction, camping and Star Wars.
